Dr Johanna Eberhard

About

Johanna Eberhard has been a scientific coordinator at the Helmholtz Institute for One Health since 2021, has accompanied the establishment of the institute from the very beginning and contributed to the development of the scientific concept. She is a biologist and worked as a postdoc in HIV immunology at the Hannover Medical School and the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf after completing her PhD in infection biology (2012).
She is particularly interested in public engagement. Since November 2024, she has been coordinating the Citizen Science project ‘CiFly’, in which Greifswald school kids slip into the role of scientists and experience the One Health concept and innovative research methods up close.
In addition to project coordination from application to implementation, her tasks also include supporting committees such as the Scientific Advisory Board of the Helmholtz Institute for One Health and the One Health Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
