Great honor: Fabian Leendertz was elected member of the French National Academy of Medicine

The prestigious academy awards HIOH's director its diploma and medal for his services to One Health

In a festive ceremony at its historic headquarters in Paris on January 7, 2025, the French Académie Nationale de Médecine officially admitted Fabian Leendertz as a new 'corresponding international member' (membre correspondant étranger). He was awarded the medal and diploma of the prestigious society for his services to research into zoonotic diseases. The academy, whose beginnings date back to 1731, brings together highly respected members from the fields of medicine, biology, pharmacy and veterinary medicine who take particular responsibility for public health through their work. Fabian Leendertz, who has also been an associate international member of the French Veterinary Academy (membre associé non nationaux d‘Académie Vétérinaire de France) since 2016, now combines two honorable memberships in renowned research societies in one person.

The admission ceremony was streamed live online and is available on the YouTube channel of the Académie Nationale de Médecine (Fabian Leendertz appears at 04:22:34).
